Update:

In line with government restrictions, we are planning to restart our exercise classes on Monday 17 May.

 While we remain in lockdown, our OnDemand exercise classes will be free of charge. 

What to expect when you visit

To keep staff and customers safe, there are some changes to how we operate:

Booking

• You must  book a class in advance on the website or via our app 
• If you have not booked in advance, you will not be able to use the centre
• If you wish to cancel you must give us at least 2 hours notice.  Find out more about cancellations. 
  
• Booking limits apply ( terms and conditions).

Classes

• We will have a reduced timetable to begin with
• We will reduce the number of people allowed in each class
• There will be marked out spots on the floors to help maintain social distancing, please do not move these markings
• You will not be able to use the water stations, so bring your own drink
• You will not need to put equipment away at the end of your class, an instructor will do this for you
• Only the person with the booking for the class will allowed access to the centre  
•  You will not be allowed entrance to any class if it has already started. 
  
• Social distancing should be observed at all times.
  

Face coverings

• You will need to wear a face covering inside our leisure centres whenever you aren't exercising, unless you have an exemption.  Find out more about face coverings.
• We recommend that you do not wear a face covering during exercise. Please leave it with your possessions during your activity.

Showers and changing rooms

• You will not be able to use the changing rooms, please come ready for your session 
• A toilet will still be available in the foyer

Cleaning

• We will be cleaning in between sessions
• As part of your cool down, you will clean equipment and put it away
  
• We will provide hand sanitiser and there will be cleaning stations around the studios for you to use before and after you use equipment

When you arrive and leave

• Before you arrive, you can download the NHS COVID-19 app. You can open the app and scan the QR code displayed at the entrance to the centre on arrival.
  
• You should only arrive 15  minutes before your session time to avoid queuing congestion
  
• If you arrive early for your session, please remain in your car
• The entrance will be split in two, please go in on the right hand side, through reception and to the gymnasium or studio
• You will need to check-in at reception
• We have increased the time between classes to avoid queuing. Please go straight into the studio when you arrive, and leave the centre straight after your class.
• Follow the signs and one-way system around the centre to get to and from your activity
• When you exit, you will go through the fire doors in the gymnasium. These will be sign-posted

Monthly Members

• You will need to book a session in advance
• You will need to check in for your session at reception
• If you do not check-in, we will charge you the full amount for the session
  
• Please make sure that you have registered your email address with us in order to book online.

Prices

Booking

You can book onto classes: 

• If you are a monthly member, you can book up to 10 days in advance

• If you are an ourChelmsford Plus cardholder, you can book 7 days in advance

• If you are an ourChelmsford Lite cardholder, you can book 2 days in advance

Things you need to know

Attending the class

• You will not be allowed entrance to the class if it has already been running for five minutes or more.   
  
• To allow time for changeovers, classes will finish five minutes before the advertised time.  
• Equipment will be provided, however we recommend that if you have your own exercise mat you bring it for floor-based exercise classes

Cancellations

• If you can't attend a class that you have booked onto, you must cancel at least two hours before it starts.
• You can cancel online or via the app, or by calling 01245 615050
• We will charge you the full amount for the class if you do not cancel in time, or if you do not attend.
