Coronavirus
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we have had to make some changes to the way customers can use our centre.
This is to keep all customers and staff safe.

Face Coverings
Following government guidance, you will need to wear a face covering inside our leisure centres whenever you aren't exercising, unless you have an exemption. Find out about face covering exemptions.
Parking
We offer 17 extra wide disabled parking bays at CSAC. 12 of these are next to the sports centre.
Access into the centre
Our centre has a sloped ramp for entrance and exit, with no barrier, to ensure easy wheelchair entrance and exit. Our reception desk is multi-level to allow easy access for all users.
We have put some changes in place to keep everyone safe during the Coronavirus pandemic.
- You can only get into the centre via the ramp by the main entrance. Please wait here until you are called forward. A one-way system will be in place.
- Please enter the centre on the left hand side and touch in for you session at one of the check points.
- You must have pre-booked a session to use the centre. If you have a carer, they can enter free of charge to assist you, however they must register at reception when arriving at the centre.
- Please enter reception on the right hand side and queue, if you have a general enquiry. The reception desk is open with a low level area making it accessible for wheelchair users.
- You can only exit the centre via the one way system which will take you long the outdoor track to exit into the car park. This is at ground level.
Movement around centre
We have put some changes in place to keep everyone safe during the Coronavirus pandemic.
- Please follow the signs and one-way system around the centre to get to and from your activity
- The centre has level floors all around the ground floor, and wide access and entry and exit routes throughout the centre.
- We have a lift located at the end of the corridor next to the athletics track, which will allow access to our gym.
- You can only exit the centre via the one way system which will take you long the outdoor track to exit into the car park. This is at ground level.
Hearing impairments
- We operate a hearing loop throughout the centre; please speak to reception.
Visual impairments and assistance animals
- We welcome assistance animals in centre to assist their owners.
Changing and toilets
Dry changing rooms
- We have a full Changing Places unit located on the ground floor, accessible by radar key. Please ask at reception if you require help with or access to this.
- You will not be able to use the shower at this time.
- You will not be able to use the lockers.
Toilets
- We have an accessible toilet and a separate Changing Places unit located along the main corridor on the ground floor. We also have toilets in both male and female changing rooms.
Athletics facilities
- Our athletics facilities are available for all to use. Wheelchair athletes can use all our athletics facilities and we have fixings for seated throws.
Gym
The handles to adjust machines are bright yellow to aid visually impaired customers.
We also have 2 top Xcite machines which are wheelchair accessible, 2 recumbent bikes and a rower for those with some mobility problems.

When we reopen, there will be some changes to how you can use the gym:
Booking
- You must pre-book a session to use the gym or you can book the free-weights room
- You can book on the website or via our app
- Carers assisting customers in the gym can come in free of charge. Please register as a carer at reception when you arrive.
- If you have not booked in advance, you will not be able to use the centre
Sessions in the gym
- Sessions will be for one hour only
- You will be able to use a station for 15 minutes only
- We will restrict the number of people allowed in the gym at any time
- We will mark some pieces of equipment as out of use to ensure social distancing
- You cannot move equipment such as benches around the gym
- You will not be able to use the water stations, so please bring a drink
- You will follow a one-way system around the gym
Showers and changing rooms
- A Changing Places unit is located on the ground floor
- There will be no lockers, just bring yourselves
- An accessible toilet is on the ground floor. We advise that you use this before your session, as they are at the start of the one-way system
Cleaning
- We will be cleaning in between sessions
- We will provide hand sanitiser and there will be cleaning stations around the gym for you to use before and after you use equipment
When you arrive and leave
- If you arrive early for your session, please remain in your car
- You can only get into the centre via the ramp by the main entrance. Please wait here until you are called forward. A one-way system will be in place.

- To exit the gym, you will either go through the fire door by the free weights area, down the stairs into the track are, turn right and the main gates into the car park.
- You can also exit the gym through the main entrance, go down in the lift and follow the one way system to the outdoor track area.
Studios
When we reopen, there will be some changes:
Booking
- You must pre-book a session on the website or via our app
- Carers assisting customers can come in free of charge. Please register as a carer at reception when you arrive.
- If you have not booked in advance, you will not be able to use the centre
Classes
- We will have a reduced timetable to begin with
- We will reduce the number of people allowed in each class
- There will be marked out spots on the floors in the classes to help maintain social distancing, please do not move these markings
- Classes will be in studio 2, the sports hall and indoor track, as studio 1 will be closed
- You will not be able to use the water stations, so bring your own drink
Cleaning
- We will be cleaning in between sessions
- As part of your cool down, you may be asked to assist in cleaning your equipment
- We will provide hand sanitiser and there will be cleaning stations around the gym for you to use before and after you use equipment
When you arrive and leave

- We have increased the time between classes to avoid queuing. Please go straight into the studio when you arrive, and leave the centre straight after your class
- Follow the signs and one-way system around the centre to get to and from your activity
- If your class is in the sports hall you will exit directly through the fire door behind court 2 and follow the signs round the outside of the building into the car park.
- If your class is on the indoor athletics area or in studio 2, you will need to exit through the fire door at the end of the sprint straight and follow the signs round the outside of the building into the car park.
Accessible and extra sensory sessions
We aim to make our classes accessible to all and welcome customers to attend with carers if required.
