We will treat the identity of someone contacting us to make a complaint as confidential and the general public will not have access to names and addresses.
However, it may be necessary to reveal the identity of a complainant to support the Council's case if we take formal legal action, for example if there is an appeal against the action. Similarly, a complainant's identity may have to be revealed to the Court if prosecution proceedings are instigated. In these cases, we will give the prior notification before the case gets to this stage.
This information relating to the identity of these individuals is therefore considered partially exempt from publication under the Freedom of Information Act.
