To celebrate the Olympic handover from Beijing to London, Chelmsford Borough Council is offering FREE USE for those aged 16 years and under, in addition to a wide range of other exciting offers, at its four sports centres during Sunday 24 August 2008. Free activities for children, available during public session time, include swimming, ice-skating, badminton, table tennis, squash, soft play and climbing. This event is part of the Council's wide range of sporting and cultural initiatives in the lead up to, and after, the Games; and aims to increase awareness of opportunities available and encourage more young people to get active.
Chelmsford Borough Council supported Sport Relief 2008 by hosting the town's first ever Sport Relief Mile on Sunday 16 March in Central Park.
