Wilde Salome

Post show Q&A with Steven Fry and Al Pacino

Al Pacino’s Salomé based on Oscar Wilde’s play, Wilde Salomé, are presented in this special event live at the BFI stage Southbank, London, followed by a live  Q&A with Academy Award winner Al Pacino and hosted by Stephen Fry.

Salomé is Oscar Wilde’s most controversial work, banned in London in the late 19th Century. This scintillating tale of lust, greed and revenge follows the legend of King Herod and his lust for his young stepdaughter, Salomé.

With an intensifying desire to learn more about Wilde, Pacino felt compelled to commit Salomé to film. The result is a fascinating double feature; Salomé, a filmed version of the play and Wilde Salomé, a documentary that explores religion, literature, politics, violence and sexuality.
