Other Walks

Fancy something different? The walks listed below are offered by bodies other than Heart and Sole.

Please note that Chelmsford City Council does not take responsibility for these walks and has no control over the way they operate.

Get Walking this May!

For the second year running Walking for Health schemes such as Chelmsford’s Heart and Sole are joining up to take part in the Ramblers biggest ever free short walks festival from 3–10 May.

During Get Walking Week, Walking for Health schemes across England will be offering free short walks to encourage more people to take their first steps towards an active lifestyle.

You can join in with Get Walking Week by finding short health walks on the Walking for Health website, or try walking with your local Ramblers group.

World Walk Week

Heart and Sole have chosen to support a charity event called World Walk Week and in order to raise money we need your help.

From 10th to 17th May, a lady called Elaine Hammond is running a charity event called World Walk Week in aid of Cancer Research UK; Macmillan Cancer Trust and Willen Hospice. The event has been authorised to fundraise by all of the charities and has been acknowledged by Walking for Health. The two key objectives are to raise as much funding as possible for the charities and to raise awareness of cancer to help enable people to recognise signs to look out for.

If you would like to support World Walk Week, all you need to do is wear something purple for Heart and Sole walks that you attend during that week, and make a donation via participating Walk Leaders if you so wish.

You can find out more about World Walk Week at http://www.worldwalk.org.uk. Please note that there is no registration fee.
