Part of the history for adults series 2014, this illustrated talk by Yvonne Lawrence followed by guided gallery visit explores Chelmsford's development, looking at three specific influences - the town's early importance as a market; the influence of the Mildmay family from Tudor to late Georgian times; and the industrial giants - including Marconi - who opened their factories here in the late nineteenth century. 


Doors open at 7.30pm for refreshments and a 7.45pm start; open to adults and children aged 14+ (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult).  Tickets are £6 per person, or £5 for Friends of the Museum and under 16s.  Booking essential on 01245 605700.
