Riverside Ice and Leisure have an outdoor pool facility that is open during the summer months from May to September. The outdoor pool is open during the summer months (weather permitting) from Sunday 29 May 2010 until September 2010 inclusive. Please check the notices section to see whether there are any planned closures or time changes for this area, which may affect your visit, and make sure that you read the important information on this page prior to your visit. It is important to note that the Centre operates under ISRM recommendations, and adheres to the following adult to child ratios for swimming and pool parties: The Outdoor pool programme during summer months only is as follows: Monday:8am to 2pm - Public session Tuesday:8am to 2pm - Public session Wednesday:8am to 2pm - Public session Thursday:8am to 2pm - Public session Friday:8am to 2pm - Public session Saturday:8am to 2pm - Public session Sunday:8am to 2pm - Public session Please note that Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre now operates a no smoking policy throughout the Centre. This includes the outdoor pool area. Great news for all the swimmers and sun seekers out there.... Need a place to cool off when the sun's out blazing? Why not chill out by our outdoor pool? After a dip in the pool, why not relax in comfort on our outdoor patio; where chilled drinks, ice-creams and snacks are on hand at our poolside kiosk. It's the perfect venue for the whole family. Q1. When does the Outdoor Pool open and close? It will be open during the summer months only, from 8am until 2pm and 2.30pm until 8pm (or dusk if earlier), Sunday to Friday, and 8am until 2pm and 2.30pm until 6pm (or dusk if earlier) on Saturday. Opening times are weather permitting (at the discretion of the Pool Supervisor) from Sunday 29 May 2010 until September 2010 inclusive. Q2. What happens if the Outdoor Pool closes (ie. for rain)? If it happens when there is a public session in the Main Pool, you will be able to continue your swimming (in the Main Pool). Unfortunately, if there is any other type of session, you will not be able to continue your swimming. Q3. Are there specific sessions for the Outdoor Pool?Yes - the Outdoor Pool mirrors the sessions that are running in the Main Pool eg. If there is a Public Session, Over 50's, Adults Only or Ladies only session in the Main Pool, this will also apply to the Outdoor Pool. The only time this does not happen is when the Main Pool is closed for 'Lessons' ie. Tuesday and Thursday 4pm - 6pm. During these sessions, the Outdoor Pool becomes a public session. Q4. What pools does my entrance ticket include? The ticket covers the use of all three Pools (Learner, Main and Outdoor) during public sessions only (excludes fun sessions in the Learner Pool). Q5. If I want to come in as a spectator for the Outdoor Pool, how much does it cost?Spectators will be charged the full admission price. Q6. Can I take food into the Outdoor Pool area? All food consumed on the premises must be purchased from one of our catering facilities (outside kiosk, Kool Kids, Main Restaurant & Burger Bar). Riverside Ice and Leisure reserve the right to alter any details listed at any time without prior notification. This information is correct at time of publication. | |
