Be Moved - a new pilot event taking place in Central Park, Chelmsford on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 September - invites local people to experience open air cinema for free with friends and family, try a new way to get physically active and participate in arts activity. Be Moved is also a major event of the Chelmsford Arts Trail.
During the ice rink refurbishment project currently underway at Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre, pipework leaks were discovered in the circulatory system that produces and maintains the ice pad surface. As owners and operators of the centre, Chelmsford Borough Council sought specialist advice from a team of technical experts who undertook a comprehensive testing programme to identify what work needs to be carried out and explore repair and replacement options to determine the best course of action.
The Safer Chelmsford Partnership and Essex Police are cracking down on alcohol fuelled anti-social behaviour in Chelmsford Town Centre by extending the Designated Public Place Order (DPPO). The order will be in place from Monday 13 September 2010.

On Monday 16 August Chelmsford Borough Council's ICT services presented a cheque for £419 to representatives from the Mayor of Chelmsford's Charity - Essex Air Ambulance.
There's no need to splash out on a family trip at Chelmsford Borough Council's Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre following the introduction of family swim tickets. On Saturdays and Sundays, during the 2.30pm to 5pm public session, a family of four (two adults and two children) can now swim for just £10.50.

Chelmsford Borough Council is asking for residents' views on whether, from May next year, it should retain the current Leader and Cabinet system of decision-making, and give more authority to the Council Leader, or whether it should move over to having a directly elected Mayor.
Weekend badminton bookings at Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre increased by 53 per cent during July, as customers took advantage of a special summer promotion on court hire.
On Tuesday 27 July 2010, Chelmsford Borough Council took a member of the public, Mr Chris Parker, of 53 Pendle Drive, Basildon, to Chelmsford Magistrates Court for discarding food waste from a vehicle at the Riverside Retail Park.
