Welcome to the website for Chelmsford Borough Council. We have designed this site to be clear, accessible and easy to use. The following information will help you to make the most from this site.

Layout

Chelmsford Borough Council is committed to equal access for all its users. This website has therefore been designed to be clear and easy to read.

Each page has four main parts: the top header, the content area, the left hand navigation and the bottom links.

The middle of the page - the content area - changes on every page to provide different information.

The left hand navigation helps you to move around different parts of the site and changes depending on which area you are in.

The bottom part shows you links including privacy, disclaimer and contacting the web team.

To get back to the homepage either

• click on the 'Home' link at the top of the page
• or click on the 'home' option within the breadcrumb trail.  

Search

The search box on the right hand side of the homepage allows you to type in a keyword of the information you are seeking. There are also further options to help you refine your search. 

A-Z of Services

The A to Z of services helps you to navigate through the site to information about our services and contact details. We also provide links to services that the Borough Council does not provide to enable you to access service further afield - these include links to areas such as pharmacies, motorways, doctors, dentists etc 

Online Services

Chelmsford Borough Council provides a range of online services, including online forms, payments and opinion polls. To access these services, please visit our Do It Online page.

Languages

The Council has recorded podcasts outlining the main Council services in three languages - French, Spanish and Polish - as well as a video in British Sign Languages.  To view these, please visit our Help In Your Language page.
