The Chelmsford Travel & Visitor Information Centre has now settled into its brand new home at the new bus station site on Duke Street. 20 February 2007 Formerly sited at the train station, Chelmsford Travel & Visitor Information Centre provides a vital service promoting Chelmsford as great place to visit, stay, shop and explore. Offering an enormous range of visitor information about Chelmsford and the surrounding areas, the Centre, which is a joint venture between Chelmsford Borough Council and First Group, also provides travel and bus information, as well as First bus tickets and National Express ticket sales. Cabinet Member for Corporate Services, Councillor Philip Wilson commented, "With Celebrate Chelmsford and the World Scout Jamboree putting Chelmsford in the global spotlight this year, the Travel & Visitor Information Centre will be playing an even more pivotal role in promoting Chelmsford, not just to residents but to visitors from all over the world. I am delighted that First and the Borough Council's successful partnership continues to provide this vital public service. Duncan Cameron, Operations Manager, First Essex said, "Our professional staff have the expertise and knowledge to be able to supply a wide range of information and services to the travelling public. We are delighted to be able to provide this service now from such fantastic new accommodation."
