Hylands House, owned and operated by Chelmsford Borough Council, is opening its doors to happy couples dreaming of the perfect wedding during its Wedding Preview Day, on 8 October 2006 from 11am - 5pm. 19 September 2006
With over 18 exhibitors, the Preview Day provides visitors with the opportunity to meet a wide range of local wedding specialists including caterers, florists and musicians. There will be free food and wine tasting, a bridal fashion show commencing at 12noon and the opportunity to win a collection of discount vouchers for selected suppliers. Guests will also be able to pick up a free copy of the Hylands wedding pack. The event also offers couples the opportunity to view the House set up for civil ceremonies and receptions. The Drawing Room will be set up for a ceremony and the Banqueting room laid out for a Wedding Breakfast. Licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnership ceremonies, Hylands House is a beautiful grade II* listed building set in landscaped parkland and offers a spectacular setting for a wedding. Chelmsford residents who marry at Hylands can expect a pleasant surprise as they are entitled to a discount. The House is available on a venue-only basis, with a list of approved contractors to select from. This gives the flexibility and the freedom to tailor weddings to specific requirements. All the rooms on the ground floor of Hylands House are licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnership ceremonies as well as one room on the first floor. Rooms include the beautifully restored Drawing Room, the elegant Library and the ornately decorated Banqueting Room, which provides an exquisite setting for ceremonies for up to 80 guests.
