Riverside Ice and Leisure run a wide range of ice-skating, swimming and dryside courses for children during Essex County Council Term Time dates.

Skate UK

Riverside Ice and Leisure is proud to introduce the 'learn to skate' programme, based on the Skate UK structure, which the National Ice-skating Association (N.I.S.A) has approved. The programme, for skaters of all ages, teaches fundamental movement and basic ice-skating skills.

The following courses are available:

• Junior Course (5 to 15 years);
• Adult Course (16 years plus);
• Junior Ice Hockey (8 to 11 years); and
• Parent and Toddler (2 to 4 years)

Swimming Lessons

Riverside Ice and Leisure runs a comprehensive swimming scheme that includes:

• Duckling Lessons (3 months to 3 years);
• Toddler Lessons (3 years to 5 years);
• Junior Lessons (5 years plus);
• Adult Lessons (16 years plus);
• Specialist courses, including Diving, Synchronised Swimming and Personal Survival;
• Challenge Awards (Bronze, Silver and Gold);
• Lifesaving Awards, including Junior Rookie Awards and RLSS National Pool Lifeguard;
• ASA Teaching Awards, including Assistant Teachers (16 years plus) and Teacher's Course (17 years plus)
• as well as Private Lessons

Dryside Courses

Children (aged 2 years plus) and adults can take part in a number of activities designed to be educationally yet enjoyable. Specialised tuition from qualified coaches in a relaxed atmosphere will help to develop skills in the activity of your choice.

• Trampolining, including Pre-school (2 years upwards) and Adult;
• Short Tennis (for juniors aged 5 to 7 years);
• Badminton (for juniors aged 8 to 11 years);
• Football (for 5 to 10 years)
